Hassi Messaoud, Algeria
24th March 2011
Medilink and the Institute of Health and Safety are actively present in Algeria after securing a number of contracts with multinational companies operating there. In order to continue developing the strategy of a permanent presence, the Company secured exhibition space in one of the local exhibitions The International Trade Fair in Hassi Messaoud for Products & Services held between the 1st and 4th March organised by Petroleum Industry Communication.

The exhibition was of a generic nature and presentations during the conference addressed subjects such as the legal and financial requirements of international companies with the intention to operate in Algeria, technological products available for international operations in the region, logistical support available through various local companies etc. Hassi Messaoud is presently the most active place for all multinational oil and gas companies operating in Algeria and being present there not only reinforced our interest to be of assistance to these multinational but also supported our long term commitment to the country.

Chris Cachia, Head International Business Development, managed the stand and many local contacts where developed. Visited by the Algerian Minister of Energy & Mines, Medilink was encouraged to continue venturing into the opportunities that the country presents. Medilink will continue looking at more ways how to achieve its long term strategy in the country of having a more permanent presence and assisting the major multinational oil & gas companies operating here. A number of corporate visits to operations in the region also followed the exhibition.
